We were forced to stay here for a youth tournament and this property is absolutely not safe for families. From the moment we arrived, we were surrounded by homeless individuals and drug users loitering just outside the hotel. When we expressed concern, the front desk response was, “There’s nothing we can do—there’s a Motel 8 next door.”
All of our rooms had issues. Most smelled heavily of mildew, carpets were damp, and humidity was overwhelming. Several rooms had ant and gnat infestations—one player even woke up with ants crawling on his body.
The hotel was overbooked, and despite paying for parking, there weren’t enough spaces. Families were forced to park in unsafe or narrow areas, and one even had their vehicle hit. On our first night, we were told to park in a handicap spot temporarily, but warned we had to move by morning or risk being towed—yet another sleepless night for parents and players.
Safety continued to be a major concern. Loud music blared from a vehicle one morning, which escalated into a domestic incident. Which also had this man randomly appear at one of our teams room. A woman left her children alone to go drinking, returned at 2 AM yelling for an hour for her unattended children to open the door, and resumed again at 8 AM the next morning. Despite multiple complaints, hotel staff did absolutely nothing. Our families eventually had to call the police for a child welfare check since the hotel refused to act.
This environment was completely unacceptable, especially for young athletes preparing to compete. Zero accountability from the staff, useless security, and complete disregard for guest safety. This was hands down one of the worst hotel experiences we’ve ever had.
