I used to avoid Starbucks in my youth. I always would rather spend my money on local cafes, especially while in school. Over time, I find I just want a nice drink and a comfy seat from time to time, and usually there's a Starbucks around that can supply both of those things.
Today, this particular Starbucks was able to deliver both and leave me satisfied. Located at the top of a hill along westbound Kimberly Road, the outside of this Starbucks is as unassuming and boring as any other with its light tan brick and concrete facade. The interior is something in between the newer Starbucks locations on Middle Road and Elmore Avenue and the older location on 53rd street North of the Super Target. The ceiling plenum is covered by white 2 foot square drop ceiling tiles with a combination of recessed and accent lighting fixtures. The floor is a light brown 1 foot square ceramic tile throughout the dining area. The walls are a combination of wood laminate and light green-gray painted drywall, which continues into the prep area but also includes a backsplash of tessellated white, gray and black granite looking tiles of various sizes. It's not super bright and sterile, like the 53rd Street location, and not dark and modern looking like the other two aforementioned cafes. It's something in-between and unique all the same.
Honestly, I like it for its own style, but also for the comfy chair I found. There's a set of two yellow semi-plush chairs around a low table. They were perfect for my uses on my visit - I got to sit, look at stuff on my phone, and relax for a bit while listening to string quartet versions of 2010s era pop music play softly in the background.
I've begun enjoying the Iced Peach Green Tea Lemonade Starbucks offers, not only for the taste but also for the lower calorie count the drink offers. That's what I ordered today and it was as good as it is at other locations as well. I'm probably going to continue ordering this in the future, as well.
I'd count this as another successful Starbucks visit. I can recommend the interior of this location to passers by as much as the others I've visited. It has the same drink quality I've had at other locations and the comfy chairs are present and sufficiently comfy. Thanks again, Starbucks!
