This Dollar Tree seems to have better options and more stocked items to choose from than some/many of the other stores in the area. Prices range from $1.25 to $1.50 generally. I didn’t see anything higher but I didn’t get to see every item in the store.
One thing I was kind of put off by was that their app no longer exists. I saw and followed one employee who I thought may have been a manager because he went into the office. I knocked on the door and asked about the app. He was completely clueless. He didn’t even seem to know what an app was so I tried to explain it to him but received a confused look and he just answered, “Uh, no. I don’t think we have one of those.”
I went to the cashier and she said they shut it down a while ago. However, she told me I could go to the website to order anything they carry and have it shipped to any store to save on shipping costs, which is helpful to send things to my daughters and granddaughter in another state. She was so much more helpful than the “Manager”. Instead of just saying “No”, she gave me an alternative to use for what I was looking for.
I was also looking for a particular item and decided after my interaction with the manager that I would ask the employee who was actually stocking shelves if they carried it, figuring she would know best. She was very pleasant when I interrupted her and told me they didn’t have it in the style I was trying to find and offered other alternatives. Unfortunately, they weren’t what I needed.
Overall, it was a good experience but I think the Dollar Tree Regional or Corporate offices should make sure their employees (especially the managers) are aware of modern technology or popular items that have been discontinued, like their mobile app, so they can correctly and confidently answer questions from customers and learn to offer alternatives.
