Great reseller, highly recommend. Been shopping here regularly for 4+ years.
Pricing - excellent. My best scores - New with tags WH/BM suit - orig. tag $95, PD price -$45! NWT Talbot's Dress - orig. $150, PD price $35!!
Service - friendly and helpful. Staff has offered assistance completing an outfit or finding complimentary items as they had availability. In recent months they have been extremely busy when I've been in so I don't expect that service every time. SUGGESTION - PD - I'd gladly pay for and set up appt. time for such personal shopping! The mannequins are always fabulously decked out, clearly the ladies of PD have talent! :)
Recommendations for Other PD Shoppers:
Resale shops inventory will vary in selection and/or quality - Many PD items are brand new and very gently worn. Some are moderately worn. Compared to many local resellers, PD has high quality items at fantastic prices. Moderately worn items are usually highly sought after, and are offered at prices in line with condition at PD. Know that buying clothes from resellers requires frequent shopping since inventories vary. I've had visits where I have more than a dozen items or more I want to buy and end up having to prioritize to stay in my designated budget and other times I don't find anything at all.
To fairly judge a reseller in terms of inventory and quality takes at least 10 visits or more. I rarely buy retail for items I can buy at PD or other resellers, and PD is at THE top of my local reseller shops!
Suggestions for selling items to PD:
Call the shop with any questions or ask in store before bringing in items. Despite shopping for years, I made the mistake of bringing items before knowing the process - put everything on hangars but they prefer bags or bins. Their process requirements help make a smooth and efficient transaction and they're happy to answer questions and appreciate sellers coming prepared.
If items prices offered or low or items are rejected, don't take it personal! Just like selling/trading in a car where dealers don't buy at KBB prices (or they couldn't sell at retail and profit), expect PD offers to be below retail resell value which allows them a margin for profit.
Sometimes items are rejected based on PD customer base, current inventory, condition etc. and yes those decisions are based on PD staff decisions which are subjective. They know their business and what will and won't sell at that time. Again, don't be offended its not personal - ask if items might be brought in another time if rejection was for inventory reasons. Take items to other resellers, or use self-resell options like Ebay as alternatives.
Wish-List/Suggestions for PD:
As above, would love to be able to set appts (and pay for) for personal shopping time if that were a possibility given shop hours and staffing availability.
PD Website/FB pages - Would like to see these updated to be consistent - store hours and consignment details differ between sites, and would be helpful to have more detail on selling process/requirements on the sites. For example, I brought my items in on hangars vs. in bags. I did not know there was a sign in store listing some of the preferences and relied on the website to prepare.
Please only sell shoes new-in-box or with tags. I think many would agree that putting our feet where others have gone before isn't appealing and even the best quality shoes show wear with just a few uses. I feel having shoes in PD detracts from the high-end and quality experience of the PD brand and style.
Would love to see a larger retail store - while that's a huge undertaking it does seem the shop's popularity is growing which is a great thing! I've many times eyed an item that hasn't been reviewed and inventoried and have seen others do same. Of course business growth on that scale would be a huge ask, but a girl can always dream. Its a compliment to say I want more of such a wonderful thing as Pink Door!
