Whether it was a pinpoint cast after hearing “Ok Paul 2 O’clock 40 feet facing right” or John’s calming refrain “Relax, breathe ..just let the rod do the work and let it fly”...there is never an angry word but rather reassurance and at times a good ribbing when we both wonder who has the bigger brain us or the fish. Since I met up with John a number of years ago....I’ve learned a lot and it’s always been a fishing with a friend who enjoys watching you enjoy the moment experience. I our most recent trip we targeted winter reds on a cold windy day however John was able to find sheltered areas the produced consistent shots at cruising reds that toyed with our emotions by charging and refusing our offerings. Once we broke the code (secret fly sorry) we landed a number of fish. As always I’m looking forward to my next trip which can’t come too soon...John thanks again for a GREAT time Happy Holidays and see you in the Spring!!!!
