Tequila's Mexican Restaurant in Jesup

While in Jesup checking out my newest listing, I needed someplace to stop and have lunch. Once I decided on Mexican, Google suggested Tequila’s Mexican Restaurant.I was very impressed immediately upon waking in with the atmosphere of this restaurant. We were enthusiastically greeted by the Greeter. Service was impeccable and the food was excellent. I recommend the chimichangas. Will visit again.Parking: Large parking lot.Wheelchair accessibility: No stairs, assigned parking spaces for wheelchair accessibility.

We came here with a party of 4,We were seated right away ( it wasn’t full around 1500) they greeted us at the door and sat us at a beautiful booth. I have to say that this restaurant doesn’t fall for the tacky Halloween Mexican decoration. The vibe it’s an hacienda with beautiful walls, panels and wall paintings.We ordered street tacos , carne asada, chicken, the food was actually better than I imagined. The only thing I would change it’s the beans. They lacked flour.Our Drinks were delicious. It did take a while for ours drink to come out, even water but other than that, I would recommend this place. 4.5/5 starts

No joke, this was, quite literally, the best Mexican food I've had in forever. I've had great - but this was simply just perfect. The flavor of the Birria was amazing.We will definitely be back.Dietary restrictions: I'm gluten free and had no issues.Parking: This is in a small strip mall and parking when the restaurant is busy is next to impossible. But the food is so good, people park in the grass.

I ordered the nachos machos and the steak Avocado salad, they give you a lot of food however not enough salsa for the nachos not enough seasoning on the steak, or any salad dressing for my salad. They put entirely too many onions and green peppers in my salad (it was overpowering) and no where enough avocado. There was enough steak in it! This was my first time trying them out. The young ladies were very nice.

This visit was questionable. When I 1st sat down, I looked down & saw a dead roach. Then, when my food arrived, the plates were dirty. They did prepare my order again (or re-plated the food), but at this point I was very apprehensive. Nonetheless, I ate due to the fact I hadn't eaten literally all day (it was 8:25 in the evening) and the main dish was good; however, the rice was on the cool side of lukewarm.

The best Molcajete that I have found! Great salsa with the chips; queso dip is also tasty. Great food and service! Atmosphere a 4 only b/c it feels a bit like a dinner inside. Very worthy stop for great Mexican.Parking: Right out front.Wheelchair accessibility: Dedicated parking, level entrance, table seating.

The only reason I enjoyed this place is because I was meeting my daughters boyfriend for the first time. There was no toilet paper in any of the restroom stalls. I even let them know. Then we ordered food. We'll let's talk about that. The kids got half their food, hubby then got his 20 min later but wait where was mom's food? Nope had to remind them 2 times to even get it. It was cold and I asked for a Togo box. I had high hopes. I will never go back.

My family went there and ate dinner tonight we had a large group which I understand takes a little longer and more attention which is fine but we were there for an hour before we sat down still understandable finally we are seated and 45 minutes later we started receiving our drinks. After our drinks food started rolling out and 10 out of 19 orders were wrong rice bowls with no rice in them. Burritos with all the wrong toppings by the time we finally received the last wrong plate we had been there for 3 hrs at that point. With the service we received coupled with a 500$ tab for a night filled with chasing a waiter too fix your order or give you your rice for your bowls, or even too bring your refills back after 45 minutes. Tequilas has excellent food and every other time we have ate there it has been excellent. So large crowds beware and patient.

The Mexican food was the best we've tried so far, including Hinesville and Ludowici. We tried the birria tacos, the passion fruit, and guava margarita $4 each. It was yummy! My husband tried the tacos al pastor (pork) and the asada (beef), and they were only $2 (we went on a Tuesday). Customer service was really good, everyone so friendly and courteous. Wish I had known of this place before.

Been a patron here since they opened usually going 2-3 times a week. I’ve asked to speak to the manager four times since they opened. The first three times the manager listened and addressed my concerns. I was impressed. This last time, about a week ago, the last week of May 2024, went with six adults. Two of us received our meals at the same time two received part of their meals and two received nothing. Literally, 16 minutes lter the rest of the food came. Two were finished eating, two had part of their food cold and part hot, and two of us were about to eat. I excused myself from the table and asked to speak to the manager. He came out from the kitchen and I showed him the table with 2 finished eating, 2 with hot and cold dinner, two with meals just served. His reply, we are doing the best we can. I said I understand, but we’d like to eat together not separately. That’s why we came together. His reply was the same, we are doing all we can. I replied, “really? You simply couldn’t bring out our meals at the same time? The service here is getting bad. We may have to start going back to Laredo’s!” His reply: “maybe you should”! I was flabbergasted, to say the least! The manager just told me he didn’t want my business. I replied: “wow, that’s shocking! I guess I’ll share that with the owner that you don’t want regulars coming to Tequilas!” His reply: “you just told the owner!”Don’t know if he is the owner or not! But I won’t be back! I get we all have bad days. But to tell a customer not to do business there because service was poor! That’s next level ignorance!!!I told him he could tip my wait staff since he didn’t want my business. I paid my bill, as did my company, and we left. Won’t be back!The young lady (teenager) kept smiling at me and replied “have a good night” to me six or seven times as I stood there waiting in line to pay. I asked her if her words were sarcasm and she said I could take them any way I wished. Then she told me I could leave after I paid. I told her I’d leave when everyone in my party had paid. She was quite the nasty little girl!I made comments on the back of my receipt stating I thought the service was poor and she taped it to the back wall so everyone could read my comments! I was shocked. They posted a bad review right behind the cash register for all their customers to read! Hilarious!!!PS: the other three issues I spoke to the manager about:1) first week they were open, I ordered a jumbo margarita. Waitress brought me a medium. I asked what size the guy at a different table had and she said half pitcher, but that didn’t seem right. I asked for the manager and he corrected her on the sizes and brought me out a jumbo!2) my wife and I ordered medium margarita, I had original and she had a flavored kind. Hers was $3 more just cause it was flavored. I asked to speak to the manager and he came out. I simply said you and I know it doesn’t cost more for a flavor. Same amount of ingredients, why should I pay $3 more. He changed her price to the same as mine. The following week all same size margaritas were the same price.3) my wife ordered a potato burrito*. The waitress brought her a tortilla with French fries on top. My wife replied, I asked for a potato burrito and the waitress said that’s what I served you. I then replied, my wife has ordered that before here and it never came with French fries on a tortilla. She insisted, absolutely insisted, that was their potato burrito. I took the plate to the bartender who I’ve gotten to know bc I’m there so often. I simply said, can you fix this for us? He looked at it and replied, what should it be? I said potato burrito and he said, that’s not a good attempt. Bring it right to you. Within a minute my wife had a potato burrito. He then said there are new people in the kitchen. They simply didn’t know the correct way to make it.* at Tequila’s, their potato burrito is French fries ground up and placed in a tortilla and reheated. I would not recommend.

Our family had an amazing experience. With 3 kids it is always a little hectic. Reese was our waitress. She did an amazing job. She was very patient and helpful as we were taking our time looking over the menu. She was very attentive and the food was great. Everything came out quickly and as ordered. Also, the kids had plenty of options to choose from! Thanks Reese!!

We were seated immediately. The menu is fairly broad, but not over the top.. The menu was setup nicely and most of the food dishs had a pic of the entree on the menu. A plus! For those who don't really know real Mexican food, pictures help them out with choosing.Ordered, and the food was good and tasted like great, and like it should in comparison to other Mexican restaurants we've been too.. We've been to many of them. Love the food!If you like true Mexican food, I recommend Tequilas. Give it a try.. You'll like the food.

Update: 03/28/24......I haven't been here much in the past 6 months and went today for lunch and what a difference, not a good one either! Service felt rushed, for no reason as they were not busy, our waitress was horrible, didn't listen to my order, brought me chicken instead of beef in the chimichanga and forgot my salad as well but yet was on my bill. The chips were horrible too, tasted like burnt oil......I will definitely rethink before going back.

I've been to this location twice. Looks like they are constantly understaffed for servers, or there is a disconnect in training. Our server was pleasant but seemed overwhelmed. We had a party of 6, and all of our orders came out staggered, taking 5 minutes or more between meals to arrive. The fajitas were nearly charred to inedible, leaving both meat and vegetables dry and shriveled. I watched another man wait on his beverage refill until literally just before receiving his ticket. He caught my eye and shook his head in our shared disbelief. I don't plan to go back here for a while. The one in Baxley didn't impress, either.

The food was great. The service was booty. (Curly haired lady) acted like everything was a problem for her, & was off doing other orders. (Rolled her eyes when asking the price for drinks) and then never came back with the info, or refilled any drinks, as she was doing other orders. She rushed us with everything. A male waiter came along & was much more helpful in the 30 seconds he spent helping us get the check, & to-go drinks. Couldn’t get any names, no name tags)

1st. time going and my husband and myself loved the food and atmosphere.Our waiter took our order and didn't return to check on us but we asked the other waiters for stuff and they were very nice. Don't get the waiter with the blonde dyed hair. But everyone else was very friendly and nice 👍 I'd definitely go back. Food was awesome 😎

Hubby and I went for anniversary lunch..so glad we did!! He had steak tacos and I had shrimp tacos. Both meals were excellent!! Additionally, you can't go wrong with their $3.00 margaritas!! Our server Perla was wonderful. We're transplants to the area from El Paso, TX..as close to the Mexican food as we're used to.This will be our "go to" from now on when we're craving Mexican.

Mediocre food that's noticably more expensive than everywhere else in town. Absolutely terrible service and rude staff. If you get an order wrong, that's okay. Getting the order wrong multiple times in the same trip and then proceeding to have an attitude and yelling at customers is not okay. The teenage lady at the hostess stand shouldn't be working in any customer facing job. There are plenty of better Mexican restaurants in Jesup for cheaper too. Had poor service every time we've visited here since they opened, the incident tonight was the last straw. If their staff is this unprofessional, then maybe management should actually be on location during dinner hours, or at least be reachable. This was not the case tonight.Edit: after a few weeks the best they can do is an AI generated generic response. What a joke.

Sat for 20 minutes before anyone said a word to us. 5 people looked us dead square in the eyes and didn't say not a word. When I was finally able to order a drink, it was disgusting on so many different levels. When they found out that we were only coming for a drink and chips and cheese, we didn't see them again until we went looking for someone to get our check. No refill offers, no check-ins, nothing. Worst service ever!And no, they weren't busy, maybe 3 couples in the whole restaurant.

Unfortunately, probably the Worst Mexican Food Experience, I have had in My Entire Life!My Order was wrong.I have never seen nor tasted Guacamole like theirs.My Chille Relleno was a slice of pepper with a layer of meat then another slice of pepper with cheese on top.The waitress refilled My wife's coke with tea then filled my empty tea with coke.I spoke to the Manager, we discussed our meal. He then agreed my Chille Relleno was cooked wrong.He didn't even offer to take anything off the bill?No Alcohol and 2 people, bill was $52 plus dollars.We Will NOT be Back!

Been a chef long time rice was very dry refried beans like it was right from the can to the plate when I make them every body loves them I mix some black bean salsa in them some chop onion then I spread some salsa on top with shredded cheddar cheese on top then bake it's not only you it's all the Mexican restaurant that just throw on the plate you need to be different and you will see people will come back we just had a Mexican restaurant open it's called firefly tacos were cold same refried beans rice was hard that's why I don't eat Mexican food but the waitress was very nice and I told her your resurant is butifull very nice good luck

So it was lunch and kinda busy. Hostess was friendly and did her job. We was sat and we sat for a few minutes before a man brought Chios..took our server (white female short with short blonde hair and nose ring) close to ten minutes to even greet us.Never said name and she seemed very preoccupied. We ordered drinks and again two minutes plus foe them to arrive. She never brought the lemon for the water as asked. We finally ordered and also a Togo order. She took that and left assuming g to put order in..We didn't see her again for 10 or more minutes and she brought the salad beans rice plate out and sat on our table. Didn't ask us if we was OK just dropped plates and left. So again we sit and wait she then brings my food out..lol..which was the shrimp,steak chicken fajitas meal. I'm looking at my BF and he's sitting like wth,she leaves and about 5 minutes she brings his plate..now my food was not sizzling on plate like should have been it was cold on top and no flavor at all.Very very dry meat. The Pico had no flavor. I was not impressed at all for the price. I won't go back I would rather eat Laredos, Tequilas is not authentic I think it's out a box. Horrible service and horrible food. Server never checked on us after the food was dropped.

I have not had a more enjoyable meal in Jesup, GA. The food was delicious and the portions were plentiful. The waitress that served me was the kindest I have ever had. The service was excellent and we did not have a long wait. I will frequent this establishment often. Jesup, GA was desperately in need for this fine of a place to eat!

Wasn't too busy and sever took a few minutes to greet. Food came out pretty fast. Once the sever dropped the food off, he never came back...we had to ask the hostess for tortillas for the fajitas and napkins. Server finally came back so we can ask for our checks and boxes. Food was ok, not worth the price. I will stick with Rodeo in Hinesville or Loredo in Jesup.

First time EVER trying out this place. My husband stopped in after a long days work to pick up our order because we don’t live in Jesup and he was passing through on his way home. The girl answering the phone is very confused and hard to comprehend. I ordered Fajitas and two Chimichangas (both beef).. husband gets home and he has NO tortillas to eat his fajitas so I call and speak to the manager Jose.. he offers next time we are in town to pick up some tortillas!?! Like, what good will they do me at that point?? So we hang up and I begin eating my Chimichangas and my one is filled with hambuger? I’ve never had a Chimichanga with ground beef, always shredded beef. It had zero flavor and for a first time ever I added salt to my Mexican food.. cut into the second one and it’s CHICKEN!! I repeated twice to the girl on the phone both were to be beef!!! So both of our meals literally sucked, worst Mexican I’ve ever eaten and I’ve never had both meals messed up. Spent $35 on tasteless and an incorrect order.. meanwhile them offering free tortillas next trip to Jesup seems to make me feel better! 😡

I have been a regular at Tequilas for a while and never had a bad experience until now which is unfortunate. I am currently 38 weeks pregnant and got the worst food poisoning of my life. My friend brought my husband and I fajitas to make our day easier as I am about to have my son. All 3 of us ate the fajitas and we all ended up very sick. Not only that, when she picked up the food the girl at the front was very rude and disrespectful. She tried to charge my friend for a bunch of food that wasn’t ordered and when my friend corrected her on the order the girl rolled her eyes and proceeded to roll her eyes and have an attitude. Very disappointed in their staff for the level of disrespect that was shown and the fact that the last 24 hours of my husband, friend and I’s life has been miserable.

Here from out of town for a wedding. My partner picked this restaurant, it was literally up the street from our hotel. There restaurant is nice, the food was great (I got the birria tacos per the servers request and my partner got the 2 for 10 stuffed chile rellenos) the margarita & chamoyada both delicious. Also, our server Marissa was wonderful, great, all the things. This is a most definitely will recommend!

This place is a solid 4, but not quite a 5 star restaurant. The hostess who seated us was professional, but not overly welcoming. The serving person was very good. The food was very good for the most part. The tortillas for my fajitas were a little bit over done and were a little tough on the edges. The rest of the food was delicious. We came here for lunch. The prices for the menu items are fair and affordable.

We were very disappointed in the service we received. They were very prompt in bringing out chips and salsa but it was hard to get our waiter to bring out other dips. After finally getting to place our orders and waiting for our food , they did not bring the steak to my husband’s order or my order at all. It took about 20 minutes to get my order and the remaining food to my husband’s order. Most of the others in our party were finished eating by the time ours arrived. If we wanted refills for our drinks we had to flag our waiter down. Never once did he come over and ask if we needed anything. Yes it was busy but that is no excuse for poor service. When we finally received our bill and went to pay I spoke with the manager. He just made excuses for the poor service. He finally decided to take my meal off our bill, which was very nice. We won’t be a returning customer.
