I was not expecting much from this place when I first stepped into it. But I got to tell you, it had the feel of a Cheer's. The entire staff was very friendly, and acted like they wanted to be there. Ashley's did not have that new shiny metal modern look so many places have, but more like a very comfortable living room. The place really need some updating, but not to change it's look and feel.
Now on to to food, I have now been here several times, and have yet to be disappointed. I have had their Country Fried Steak, Ruben sandwich, and a Friday night special, called the Fish Fry.
Let me tell you about the Fish Fry. They give you this HUGE piece of fried Haddock and it is delicious. Perfectly cooked, flaky with a batter that did not overwhelm the flavor of the fish. You would think they would use one of the local fishes, but this was a very good choice. Loved it.
They also have a good beer and wine selection, as well as a very nice happy hour,.
Parking sucks, as the parking lot is a far distance from the entrance, and looks like it has not been maintained this century, but it is a only a small distraction for one of the better watering holes I have been to in a very very long time.
