The food tastes quite good. We couldn’t try any of the sweets because they ran out (we went for brunch at 1pm). Taste wise, our items were good, though a bit overpriced (for example, a chicken cheesesteak with basic fries was $20.80), but I’m willing to pay more as a treat for myself now and then.I would say their timing and service could be improved, but as I understand it this is a fairly new place so it may take a while for them to get there. To explain why I think timing and service could be improved:1) it takes the servers/hostesses a good few minutes to greet you, and then get you seated, once you enter. It was quite awkward to just stand at the door waiting to be acknowledged, to the point we thought “are we supposed to seat ourselves?”2) After getting seated, it took many minutes for the server/hostess to ask us about our order. I felt like they went MIA a lot. It is a small intimate setting and just 2 servers, so I understand that it may be overwhelming once it gets busy.3) Their menu doesn’t have any drink options listed, and server didn’t readily give us options so we had to ask. I felt like she may have been new to the job from our interactions, with the way she would walk away to get confirmations from the kitchen before we’re even done speaking.4) The timing of the food when it came out was way off. First, it took abour 20 minutes for the 1st item to come out. Please keep in mind we all ordered entrees, no apps, so general expectation is for the entire table’s food to come out together, or at least within a reasonable amount of time of each other (like 1-2 minutes buffer). This was ridiculous. 1 entree came 20 minutes after ordering, another came about another 20 minutes after the first one, and the last one came ANOTHER 20 minutes after the 2nd one. No joke, about 20 minutes spacing between each item coming out to our table so we couldn’t even actually eat together. What’s worse is that just 2 minutes after they brough the last item out, both of the servers started rushing us to leave. You JUST brought out the final dish, the customer hasn’t even swallowed the first bite, and you’re already hinting we should leave? The first server asked if we need to-go boxes - I said we are still working on our food. A different server then brought us to-go boxes “in case we needed them.” And in less than 10 minutes of that final entree coming out, they brought us the check. How ridiculous is that? You took forever in bringing out the food, yet here you are rushing the customer out the door before they can even eat.I truly think the food has potential, but the establishment needs some work. If you are understaffed, then please hire more staff. If your staff needs to be trained, then please train them.Really wish we could have tried the signature cakes, but who knows if we ever can.
