Read MoreI go to this Walmart frequently and never have issues but tonight for sure left a sour taste in my mouth. My visit was honestly great until the end. I don’t normally come here late at night but I had to and I went with my toddler around 930. I checked out around 10:05pm and made my way to the door where the store manager was standing and blocking. They said at 10 they close these doors and I need to go to the other ones. I honestly had no idea since I don’t come here
this late ever. I am visibly about to give birth, already having trouble walking and I’m alone with my toddler so I asked the manager if they could please unlock the door as my car was right up front near the door and I’m extremely pregnant and alone with my toddler and her response was “if I do it for you, I have to do it for everyone”.
1. Not everyone is pregnant, so no you don’t have to do it for everyone. But it takes one moment of decency to do something simple for your customers.
2. Though I’m not disabled, would you say that to someone who was?
3. It wouldn’t have caused any issues quickly using her set of store keys to let me out so I could safely get my toddler and myself to the car.
4. Finding out the store manager was acting this way shows me exactly how the people under her are probably treating people.
I’ll still come back because again, most of my experiences have been wonderful and this one honestly was up until that point. But this Walmart is huge, I had to walk across the entire store and then walk across the entire parking lot which is a lot for someone who is alone with a toddler and also almost 9 months pregnant.
Have a little compassion. Common decency and empathy is lacking in so many businesses. I’ve been a manager at many retail and food locations and I would never represent my business this way.
