Peets Coffee and Tea Harvard Square, Boston Mass. Monday August 12, 2024 11:10am
I went back. I hadn't been back in a number of years. You see, I used to work at this Peet's many years ago. I remember the look, the feel, the visitors, the workers, the back room, the fresh coffee smell, the grinders, the red screen when the drinks were late, the bathrooms, the stitchers drinking their tea, I remember so much. It was a happening place. I really enjoyed my time there. We were on our way to a Boston Red Sox game that night and we came in around 11am that Monday morning. I knew anyone I worked with would be long gone and good for them. This place doesn't work well with people that long term. We're talking 20 years ago?! Crazy. I ordered the normal thing. Cup of black coffee and a scone. Loved both. I relished the taste of both the drink and the bit to eat. The feel was the same and the look was the same. I think I even recognized a pigeon from outside in the park. The location is amazing and deserves to be there long term. I wanted to get some tea that day but alas, I forgot as we met my brother and his family and we were off to our next thing. Thanks Peets for the years of being wide awake with the best coffee EVER!
