We lived in Bloomington from 2002-2007, and I agree that this was a very friendly and welcoming congregation. There are a lot of new people every semester because of IU, so it was easy to jump in. Also, the music in the meetings was phenomenal--there is so much great musical talent in Bloomington, and members would sometimes bring their friends and classmates to contribute musical numbers.
This building is bigger than the other LDS buildings in town because it is also used as the stake center, so members from as far away as Martinsville and Terre Haute gather here twice/year for a conference. When we were there, two congregations met weekly--one at 9:00 am and the other at 1:00 pm. One of those also supported Spanish language translation of services and a separate Spanish Sunday school class for anyone seeking it.
