I wish I did not listen to the reviews here.
I've never had a problem with the staff. They are polite, professional, and personable. The doctors, on the other hand...
I came here hoping I would receive adequate care and guidance... but after more than two years, I see that all these doctors are doing is collecting their checks.
I had a doctor (general practitioner, or GP), Lian Jelenszky, get angry at me for asking for a referral to a specialist. She brushed aside my chronic symptoms, and actually rolled her eyes when I asked to see a specialist!
Yet another GP, Danny Abouekde, heard all of my concerns, but addressed only half of them! He wanted me to "come back in a month or two, if [the other concerns] get worse." Talk about milking the cow!
The gastrointestinal specialists here are not good, either. Arin Newman will brush aside your questions because all he wants to do is schedule a procedure ASAP, or prescribe you medication...for which he is being paid. David Cohen, on the other hand, asks you many questions, yet barely provides insight; it's as if the roles are reversed! My visits with him were extremely disappointing.
Ultimately, I had to conduct extensive research on my own—reading academic journals and reports, watching lectures from top doctors and universities, searching through patient forums, trial-and-error through my daily activities—to find out my condition. Since then, I've made some lifestyle changes, and my health has improved. And yet, I am still in search for a knowledgeable, ethical professional for a second opinion.
The quality of healthcare in this country is at an all-time low. The doctors are mercenaries—glorified employees, contractors, and business owners—and see you as dollar signs, not as people with problems. The fewer dollar signs you offer, the less they will do to help you. It is at PGSFL that I became completely disillusioned.
