We prayed and searched high and low, and Dr. Hickman is not only affordable, but he is also a highly trained microsurgeon expert in reversals and has hundreds of great reviews. In person, he was even more calming, kind, and knowledgeable. We loved that he prayed over us and our situation before the procedure and it's apparent he truly cares about the families he works with. For reference, I had my non-scalpel vasectomy about 6.5 years prior, and the reversal went smoothly and I only had the local anesthetic. I only felt it slightly but it wasn't bad at all. Dr. Hickman and I talked apologetics, pickleball, etc throughout it. In total, it took a little over an hour. Afterward, he informed me that during the procedure they tested the fluid and it was clear and thin which was promising, but that there were no sperm present. He advised us to take certain supplements which we did, and the procedure ended up being successful. (Another note: my wife and I are 38 years old and health-minded, but obviously not super young). We waited the recommended 3 weeks to start "trying", but then got pregnant immediately after that! I had the procedure on October 3rd and we conceived on November 9th. We are pleasantly surprised and thankful. It was definitely worth the travel and 2 night stay. My wife is now 15 weeks pregnant with a sweet baby boy. One more benefit, along with adding another child, was that I am allowing my body to work as God intended it to. I'm happy to say I feel better than I did before, more energy, and my working out and strength has been improved noticeably since the procedure and recovery. I'm very active so I'm grateful for that.
