Thanks to my Apple Watch contacting my sister and calling 911 as I lay unconscious, and EMTs taking me to CAMC General, Dr. Whaley subsequently explained in detail to my sister what needed to be done, and the risks associated with the procedure, she gave consent, and he worked a miracle on me through a cerebral thrombectomy, successfully suctioning out three large clots to restore blood flow. All of that led to full recovery of my speech and functionality of my right side. I saw Dr. Whaley once more in a follow up office visit after a head CT early in January 2023, and was able to give him my gratitude and a hug. Still, it took two years for the thought to even occur to me to leave a review. 🤦🏻♀️ Despite my failure to do that, I am eternally grateful for Dr. Whaley’s knowledge and expertise in saving my life that night and for restoring my ability to take care of myself rather than being sentenced to spending the rest of my life in a nursing home. To state that I am eternally grateful doesn’t even begin to express my highest esteem for him.
