The car I got 3 months ago (even with their inspection) has now gotten me stranded in four different cities (upwards of 2 hours from home) since it continuously refused to start at random points. I've had the inhibitor switch replaced, the link to the transmission redone, and had to spend almost as much money as I spent on the car in repairs, towing, Lyfts, and hotel rooms. I really trusted him when test driving the car (which by the way, still says it's for sale on the site almost 3 months later), but I am now hyper paranoid of anything any repair person or car person says because problems keep magically appearing. Maybe it's on me for my first time car buying and having to figure it out alone and not paying proper attention, but it has been an unending source of stress and financial burden since I got the car. I bought it as-is (again, my fault for not knowing the impact of that until too late), so I'm sure there's nothing I can do. I was really in a bind with needing a vehicle to get to work and I feel like I made my situation apparent, so I guess I'm just bummed I still got such a problem of a vehicle. He said it was a "point a to point b vehicle", but it's hard to leave point a when the car won't start! Please just make sure you do your research (better than me) before buying any vehicle because this has put me in a major financial bind and I wouldn't want to put that fate on anyone else. Maybe I just got the one problem car in the lot, but IDK. This has come very close to impacting my work since I've been very close to missing two work events due to these issues (it's almost a running joke at this point, my coworkers will ask me almost every day "is your car working today?").
The only good part to come out of this was the kindness of the strangers who let me borrow their phones when mine didn't have service/wifi, all the Lyft drivers, hotel workers, and the now 5 different tow truck drivers I've had to ride along with.
