I lived at briarwood for a couple of years, upon move out I gave a 30 day notice. Once I got keys to my new place, I started moving stuff in slowly. I had until the end of December to be out. I moved MOST of my stuff out by mid December, but I was still going through stuff and cleaning (as I had until the end of December.) December 27th I entered the apartment to remove the rest of the belongings and clean it. Once I entered I realized the place had been ransacked. Drawers were all completely pulled out, my fans and vacuums were all plugged in (as if someone was trying them to see if they worked), my large dining room picture was GONE. I had to UNLOCK the apartments to get inside on this day, meaning whoever was in there HAD A KEY and locked it back when they were finished. I immediately went to the manger and told her what had happened. She got defensive, told me she didn’t know what I was accusing them of, and that I needed to leave the property. I should have called the police right then, but stupidly I left to calm down. The next day I went back to my old apartment to just finish and say good riddance to the place and I couldn’t even get in, they literally changed the locks. Keep in mind, I technically still had a few days until I had to return keys. This was all in December. Come January, I had Debt collectors calling me saying I had been reported for damages to the apartment amounting in $1,572. I do not have move out pictures, as I was locked out unexpectedly, but I do have pictures of the way my apartments was kept up with over the years. Trust me, no damages were done. It was in better condition after I moved in than when they initially rented it to me. I have tried and tried to dispute this, talked to multiple managers and management companies. No one is willing to help. BEWARE.
