I recently visited my local McDonald's and, while the service was decent, I was quite taken aback by their policy on soda refills. I had no idea that they don’t offer free refills on soda, and as someone who enjoys having a drink while dining, it felt frustrating to be restricted in such a simple way. In today’s fast-paced world of fast food, it seems odd that a giant like McDonald's would choose to limit something as basic as a beverage refill.
As for the food, I was really hoping for the classic fries that McDonald’s is known for, but unfortunately, the ones I received were stale and lackluster. They tasted like they had been sitting out for too long and didn’t have that signature crispy goodness I expected. It was a letdown and really affected my overall experience.
While the staff was okay and did their job, they didn’t go above and beyond; I left feeling somewhat undervalued as a customer. The combination of the soda refill policy and the stale fries detracted from what could have been a more enjoyable experience.
Given the array of fast food options available, I’ll be considering other places that value customer service and food quality more highly. Until this McDonald's reconsiders their soda policy and ensures fresher food, I’ll be looking elsewhere for my fast food cravings.
