If you buy anything here sold as "new," CHECK TO MAKE SURE IT IS ACTUALLY NEW *AND* HAS ALL OF ITS PARTS.
Manager lost me as a customer today. After purchasing an item, I discovered it was previously used: it was full of dog fur and missing a part. Unfortunately, no other items (of that size) were in stock. I checked another box (of a different size) on the shelf out of curiosity and found the same thing. It was only after checking a (seemingly untouched) third box that I discovered that the part was missing from the first two boxes; store staff were unaware anything was missing until I discovered what was supposed to be included.
Manager offered the standard 30% discount for an item in this condition (used, covered in fur, and missing part). If it had been sitting on the shelf that way - and I didn't have to discover the issue myself *after purchasing it* - I would have been happy with the standard discount. But given the situation, I asked for a 50% discount (a difference of literally $10) to say "we're sorry for the inconvenience," but the Manager wouldn't budge. Why she thinks that the standard discount, given to anyone, is appropriate is beyond me.
This PetSmart location will be the last place I go to for our pet products.
