How in the world can you always have a positive experience when you go into a business? Just go to Lee's Feed in Shingle Springs!
I live in Fairplay, California near Omo Ranch, so this feed store is not exactly near me. But now I go out of my way to regularly go there because of the unbelievable customer service there. I have been helped at the hay barn, the dog and cat supplies, and my most favorite place in the store now, the tropical fish and fish supplies Department!
I saved a poor betta fish from certain death at the hands of my 19-year-old daughter 😅 who got him for a Christmas present, and wasn't thrilled with having an unwanted live animal as her responsibility. When I saved "Bluey" from the loneliness that came from trying to be part of her extremely busy complicated life, I was very disappointed in the gift-giver who also gave her no instructions at all just the fish and a little bit of food.
She had just moved in to be a full-time caretaker for an elderly lady and was dealing with the move and the new job and the new responsibilities and of course a million other things at 19 years old, and freshly on her own, away from home.
But right up the street from Lee's Feed!
I was so thrilled to have this little fishy!
I got on Google and I did massive research! Then I got on Facebook Marketplace and bought almost a complete 3 gallon setup used from somebody. Now Bluey had a mansion! I also got some more tankmates from Lee's feed! Everyone in the fish department was so unbelievably helpful and each worker seemed truly delighted with my new hobby! Unfortunately in my quest to be economical, I bought some test strips from a thrift store. And as my fishies seemed to be getting stressed out in their immaculate house, my test trips were not telling me the truth about the water safety for them. And when Bluey died and a couple of his other tank mates I was absolutely DEVASTATED. 😭
The workers at Lees Feed, those great kids, really comforted me.
I found out that they would professionally test my water anytime for free. And as I purchased some more fishies, and went through the learning curve of having these beautiful pets in my home, I have really fallen in love with everyone in the fish department at Lee's Feed.
I have recently purchased a brand new larger tank, a 10 gallon tank, that has LED lights, a bubble wall and live plants and all the other things that make my aquarium glorious!
When I go into Lee's Feed to get my water tested regularly, I get a warm, happy welcome and great suggestions, such as recently, you can purchase little packets of tiny frozen worms for a treat for your fishies. Gross, but they love it!😂
I just can't tell you how much is this aquarium and my fishies have enriched my life at 60 years old.
And Lees Feed fish department has been an integral part of my success!
Thank you so much Lee's Feed for employing such sterling workers in every department. Everyone is so friendly and educated in their department. Everyone is so helpful and seems genuinely happy to work there.
This is very rare. And that is why I've taken so much of my precious time to write this heartfelt review.
