I’m currently working/temporarily living in the San Luis Obispo area. In March of 2023, my tire was decimated by a massive pothole on the 101 en route to one of the hospitals I work at. I had it towed to the nearest place that could help: America’s Tire, San Luis Obispo location. Understanding I needed to get to the the hospital ASAP, they were extremely quick. I left there feeling confident and safe.
Fast forward by 4 months, my car activated the TPMS alarm, alerting me that the same tire was loosing air. I couldn’t visualize an obvious problem but upon using a gauge to check, I learned that the tire had a pressure of 12 psi! (I think it’s suppose to be somewhere around 46 psi.) I drove my car to the Santa Maria center, which was the closest one to my current location, arriving at 1757 (with their closing time at 1800).
I totally expected them to turn me away, (At best, I was hoping they would fill it with air to hold me over until they reopened the next morning). To my utter surprise and appreciation, they resolved it there!
Gabe and Alvaro were amazing! They rapidly removed the tire, discovering a nail imbedded in a section that’s not visible when attached to the vehicle.
I’m not a big believer in buying warranties. In my experience, they never seem to cover the majority of issues that actually occur. Against my typical modus operandi, I shelled out the extra $29.99 for a warranty on the tire when I made the original purchase back in March.
I’m thinking there’s no way this is going to be covered under warranty. They’ll find some reason. For the second time that day, I was pleasantly surprised; they didn’t attempt to hustle me!
They quickly replaced my tire at no charge due to the warranty. Then I bought another warranty for the new tire.
As a female with a level of automobile knowledge “stereotypical” to that of females, I genuinely appreciate honest professionals in the auto industry. I am also grateful as they prevented me from having to go in late to work the next morning! 💕
