This seemed like a great place to stop by and pick up a six of fun, albeit pricey, craft beers. It's on my way home, so I'd even stopped enough to rack up a serious amount of points via their rewards program.
At some point, however, it seemed that they decided that COVID was over and the MASK REQUIRED signs came down in the middle of a countywide mandate. The last two times I stopped by, staff and patrons were maskless in an already incredibly cramped store.
(The assurance that they wear and require masks on the Google listing is incorrect.)
I get it. Masks are uncomfortable. They're hot. It sucks.
What I don't get is why or when we decide that some folks don't need to contribute to the steps necessary to safeguard the health and wellbeing of the communities we inhabit. Doing the bare minimum to keep those in your neighborhood alive and well isn't a political stance — it's common courtesy. Whomever is in charge at Happy Place apparently looked at this social contract and said, "Nah, not interested."
If they're not interested in that, or in following local safety regulations, one wonders why you'd give them the benefit of your hard-earned money.
