Great Metro Park. Mad River goes through the park and there is also the lake. The trails are in decent condition and the views from the top of the dam are scenic.

The lake is fairly large, but the actual park is fairly small. It has nice places for a picnic and some trails. It is kept up nicely. People fish the Mad River as well as the lake. It didn't seem very busy when I was...Read More

BE CAREFUL TRAVELING SOUTH AWAY FROM PARK! The previous directions were safe and legal. They now suggest going against all posted traffic signs and taking a left across the divided highway Rt4. Please be safe and legal ♡♡ turn right, go up to the next legal...Read More

Such a wonderful local place to enjoy. These are three simple pictures that were actually meant to capture the awesome view of all the yellow flowers we had encountered in particular that day, but it gives a slight peek into the beauty of the reserve/park...Read More

Great place for a nice walk around a lake. Peaceful. Beautiful. There are concrete tables and metal grills here so that you can have a BBQ or picnic. You can get very close to the water easily. Huge cargo planes occasionally fly overhead here. You...Read More

Love this park! Especially during spring when everything is green, the birds are singing and flowers are in bloom. There are many options of walking trails. But so much to see! On the water, many random picnic tables. People fishing, taking photos, just enjoying nature. Of...Read More

Great little lake for fishing and kayaking. Lots of open space for hanging out, playing with your dog or kids. No building for restrooms, but it is the outdoors, so go as you see fit.

Huffman Dam MetroPark has a small lake for fishing from the bank, and kayaking and canoeing is allowed, but motors are banned. There is river access to the lake from the Mad River before the dam.
Port-a-potties are available in the lower parking lot, and a permanent latrine is available in the upper parking lot.Plenty of concrete picnic tables with recycling and trash cans.

Nice area to hike with paved and unpaved trails. A pond/lake area you can canoe or fish, picnic areas to sit and have lunch.

This place is my 'serenity now' kind of spot...and the geese are so friendly. See Kevin, The Dank Goose, and be sure to get a selfie with. But, please don't feed.
